Is A Disappointing Dussehra Weekend Awaiting Us

The Dussehra weekend is finally here, and with it, it has brought along a much anticipated box-office clash. While it is still early to say for sure, it seems as though ‘Vettaiyan’ is the one title that has emerged victorious.

The Rajkumar Rao and Tripti Dimri starrer ‘Vicky Vidya Ka Voh Wala Video’, has seemingly failed to impress audiences. Not only does it follow the plotline of Cameron Diaz’s 2014 comedy drama ‘Sex Tape’, it has only been talked about recently by virtue of its background score.

While the first song was criticized for its uncomfortable choreography, the most recent one, though a remake, is blowing up on social media. And this, (un)fortunately, is the only element of the film that the viewers seem to talk fondly of. Other than that, the writing, just like the jokes, falls quite bland.

On the other hand, the Alia Bhatt led ‘Jigra’ is facing a similar predicament. Sure, the film has received some positive acclaim, but there have also been reports of nearly empty theatres! This is wildly unexpected, considering that the theme of the film seems like a breath of fresh air.
