Andrew Garfield has responded to the rumours about returning to the world of MCU with Spider-Man 4, which is in development already. Even though Spider-Man: No Way Home was a blockbuster, fans are waiting longer than expected for Tom Holland’s next outing as the iconic web-slinger.
Garfield gave a blunt response to IndieWire about his return rumours as Spider-Man in the upcoming Tom Holland starrer. The actor was asked if there was any truth to him being a part of the film’s cast. You may wanna take a pinch of salt for this one! This is what he replied:
“I mean, like the internet is a big place. I think there’s a lot of people who will just say anything to get clicks. So you might have been duped, I’m afraid.”
Don’t get low, folks! Yes, he has debunked the idea of appearing in Spider-Man 4. But he is not against the idea of making an appearance in future MCU projects as The Amazing Spider-Man.
To be honest, Garfield’s return has to make sense. He needs a story that is worth his return as Spider-Man. Bringing him back as the web-slinger just for the sake of nostalgia could diminish the impact of his appearance in Spider-Man: No Way Home.
But we also cannot ignore the massive success of No Way Home. It seems like Sony and Marvel Studios will find a way to bring Garfield back in any way possible. His appearance in either Avengers: Doomsday or Avengers: Secret Wars would make a greater impact than Spider-Man 4. There are even rumors that Garfield’s Spider-Man could be in Venom: The Last Dance, confirming him as the web-crawler of Sony’s Spider-Man Universe.
