Very recently, actress Kangana Ranaut has said that she is having problems to release her upcoming film ‘Emergency’ in time. ‘Emergency’ is slated to release on the 6th of September and according to the actress, the censor board has not yet certified the movie.
The movie has caused huge uproar throughout India and many have wanted a ban against it. Two organizations of the Shikh community have requested the government to stop the release of the movie and the Telangana government has effectively put a ban on it.
The movie tells the story of Indira Gandhi, her many political exploits and finally her assassination. Indira Gandhi is one of the most controversial figures in Indian politics and there is much to both praise and hate her for. While it is a very sensitive subject to make a film on, there is not much trust there that people are putting on Kangana to tell the story. Her political biases are known to all and it is evident in the trailer as well.
But that does not justify the fact that the movie is not being certified in time. CBFC has not given any statement yet. There are a few days to the release of the movie, and it should be certified soon and audiences can decide whether to watch it or not.
