Bollywood has had a big problem centred around nepo-kids and how despite their sub-par performances, are pampered again and again by the large production houses. Though there have been several names born out of nepotism that have shocked the industry with their performances. Most of these names are that of males as females in general in bollywood already lack the opportunity of being provided with impactful roles let alone the untalented nepo-kids.
Jahnvi Kapoor, being the daughter of Sridevi, rose out of the wave of nepotism and she has been criticised a lot for her below the level performances in many of her movies. But when we look at her filmography, we find her standing away from other female starkids. When others are choosing regular projects with easier and less impactful roles, Jahnvi is constantly challenging herself with difficult roles. In movies like Gunjan Saxena: The Kargil Girl, Good Luck Jerry, Mili and now in her latest film Ulajh she has played characters that are way out of normal female roles in Indian cinema. This shows her constant attempts and unwavering dedication to improve herself and become better.
Jahnvi, though is still not at par with the brilliant actresses of this generation like Rasika Duggal, Huma Qureshi and Bhumi Pednekar. Her constant efforts show that soon we may see Jahnvi emerging as a great actor and live up to the name of her mother.
