The rumours about Ryan Gosling playing Batman in James Gunn’s DCU are spreading like wildfire on social media. This scenario forced the co-chief of DC Studios to react.
Gunn has addressed the rumour via Threads. The rumour emerged after a fan spotted Ryan Gosling’s name among the cast members of Superman: Legacy on Letterboxd. The Barbie actor’s name was included as Bruce Wayne/Batman. However, Gunn calmly thrashed the rumour by using the eye-roll emoji.
Ryan Gosling, at present, is just another name on the list of rumoured actors to play the Caped Crusader in the forthcoming DCU projects. The prominent DC superhero could appear in Superman: Legacy via a cameo appearance. Fans will surely witness the character in ‘The Brave and the Bold’ movie.
Apart from Gosling, Jensen Ackles is one of the top choices of DC fans to play the Dark Knight. The Boys fame has voiced Batman twice in DC’s Tomorrowverse animated franchise. And he gained global fame after playing Soldier Boy in Prime Video’s The Boys. In addition, the actor has expressed interest in playing Batman in the past.
Another actor who is capable of donning Batman’s cape is Jake Gyllenhaal. He is a versatile performer and has tackled projects of different genres with ease. He has also touched the superhero genre through Spider-Man: Far From Home (2019). However, he has yet to play a live-action superhero. Gyllenhaal could shock the viewers like Robert Pattinson did in Matt Reeves’ The Batman (2022).
