Kristen Bell is making her way to a new Netflix original series titled, ‘The Woman in the House Across the Street from the Girl in the Window‘. The trailer for this upcoming web series dropped almost half a day ago, on Netflix’s official YouTube channel and while the trailer is interesting, the title for this show, is even more so. Could this upcoming Kristen Bell starrer be a satire of films like ‘The Woman in the Window’, ‘The Girl on the Train’ and ‘Disturbia’? Or is it a genuine addition to the ‘murder-next-door’ genre?
The trailer is way too cryptic for us to lean one way or the other. While it does look like a genuine addition, Kristen Bell is not known for her drama roles. In fact, even her drama films have satire or comedy elements because of her presence itself. And the trailer doesn’t give off serious-serious murder vibes… If that even makes sense. Knowing Bell, we are likely going to see a decent satirical version of the aforementioned films while also being a worthy good addition to the genre as well. Hopefully.
The trailer for ‘The Woman in the House Across the Street from the Girl in the Window’ shows us a similar beginning as ‘The Girl on the Train’ (or the other two films) – a dejected protagonist is stuck at home for some reason or the other. To alleviate their boredom, they decide to watch their neighbour next door. And, they witness a murder during their peeping. They call the cops, but it looks like there is no sign of a murder or even a struggle. A short montage later, we see our protagonist (Kristen Bell, in this case) starting to lose her mind. So, what is she going to do? Check out the full trailer at the end of this article.
”The Woman in the House Across the Street from the Girl in the Window’ will premiere on Netflix next year, on January 28th 2022.
