Money Heist: Korea Joint Economic Area is just a few days away from getting released. Needless to say, the original Spanish version is one of the most successful shows ever and now a remake is coming.
It is almost a frame-to-frame remake and the only thing which appears to be different is the inclusion of Korea’s political turbulence. However, even after that, the trailer does not seem to bring something extraordinary.
La Casa De Papel aka Money Heist is one of the most-watched series on Netflix. Before Squid Game, its popularity in the Non-English category was unparalleled.
Now, since so many people have already watched the story in the original series, why would they bother to watch a frame-to-frame remake of something?
We understand that Korean content is extremely popular on Netflix and particularly in India. But it doesn’t mean that Netflix can get away with anything in the name of Korean content.
Thus, there is hardly a way Money Heist: Korea Joint Economic Area will come close to La Casa De Papel in terms of popularity. They may generate decent views but there is no way it will leave a legacy like “Squid Game”.
Regardless, Money Heist Korea: Joint Economic Area releases on June 24 and those who haven’t watched the original Spanish series may find it interesting.
