Is Netflix Ready For Sports Streaming?

Being at the top of the OTT industry, Netflix is ready to take it to the next level by providing sports streaming services live to a worldwide audience. Their first live-streaming action occurred earlier today when Jake Paul and Mike Tyson headlined their premiere boxing event. The stakes were high as The Baddest Man on the Planet made his penultimate return to a boxing ring which gained worldwide attention for the event.

The event, however, was kind of dragged and looked like a forgettable night to remember for those watching live on Netflix. The platform saw a range of errors throughout the event damaging the viewing experience. Fans took over the internet with massive rage as the Netflix servers came up short for such a huge event.

Keeping in mind that this was their first major live sporting event, things need to improve as the backlash for the event has been noticeable and wide. What makes the situation worse is that Netflix will be live-streaming WWE and NFL events in the future and with the current blunders made by Netflix, expectations to provide seamless streaming services are seemingly low.

While it is one of the biggest OTT services and handles millions of users globally with several affordable plans, Netflix might have taken a bullet with its newest live-streaming moniker. As it tries to expand its reign of being on the front, it might become a problem for them in the long run.

WWE has a pretty vocal and engaging fanbase and if these issues continue ahead, Netflix will be portrayed in a negative light all around the internet. It remains to be seen how Netflix will rectify this problem in the upcoming months.
