Is Rocketry’s BO Collection Going To Be Regret For The Masses?

Rocketry: The Nambi Effect hit the theatres on 1st July. Since then it has earned widespread appreciation for its unique storyline and brilliant execution.

Needless to say, the film is better than many movies which were hit in recent times. If not perfect, Rocketry: The Nambi Effect is indeed a good film in many aspects.

But let’s have a look at the Box Office numbers. The film has earned about 20 crores so far and is only at one-third of its budget after 11 days of release.

Word of mouth, appreciation, and promotion has not helped the film attract an audience at the ticket counter. Needless to say, the underwhelming box office collection of the film is disappointing.

But it is 2022 and filmmakers always have a dumping ground for movies that won’t attract audiences to the theatres.

It is OTT and theatrically unsuccessful films usually find their way to that. But, R. Madhavan is very clear about the fact that the film is not heading to OTT anytime soon.

This puts the audience in a dilemma. Good films now and then have kept on getting flopped. Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s heart-wrenching “Guzaarish” was a flop, and so was “Raincoat” and a thousand others.

But now when the audience has become so choosy with films the poor performance of Rocketry: The Nambi Effect is a major disappointment for good films.

The post-pandemic trend says that films are either huge flops or blockbusters, Rocketry doesn’t deserve to fall into the former category.

Regardless, stay tuned to Binged for the OTT update of the film.
