Diehard fans of the highly popular action comedy ‘Rush Hour’ film series starring Jackie Chan and Chris Tucker in the lead roles have been eagerly waiting for an update about the fourth installment. Although there hasn’t been any official announcement by the makers until now, Jackie Chan had last year stated that ‘Rush Hour 4’ was in the works. Previously, he had reportedly agreed to a potential ‘Rush Hour 4’ script back in the year 2017.
And now, in line with Jackie Chan’s earlier confirmation regarding the ‘Rush Hour’ sequel, his co-star Chris Tucker has given an encouraging update. While promoting his forthcoming movie – Ben Affleck’s directorial sports drama ‘Air’, the gifted performer has said that he is all game for ‘Rush Hour 4’ and that he loves working with Jackie Chan. Chris Tucker considers the ‘Rush Hour’ sequel as amongst his forthcoming acting projects.
So, first it was Jackie Chan and now his co-star Chris Tucker too has given a positive update for ‘Rush Hour 4’. This indicates that the sequel is indeed happening but exactly when the project is going to kick-off is currently not known.
However, it looks like there is going to be one major change in ‘Rush Hour 4’. Unlike the first three ‘Rush Hour’ movies, ‘Rush Hour 4’ probably won’t be directed by Brett Ratner. So, if that’s actually the case, then it would be interesting to see which filmmaker replaces him to direct ‘Rush Hour 4’.
The first ‘Rush Hour’ movie revolves around the kidnapping of a Chinese diplomat’s daughter in America. The incident leads to a dedicated and upright Hong Kong cop (Jackie Chan) teaming up with an easy-going and reckless but good-hearted LAPD cop (Chris Tucker) to rescue the girl. All three ‘Rush Hour’ films are streaming in India on the Netflix OTT platform.
