Though in comics, Kang defeated Thanos without breaking a sweat, the screens tell a very different story. Thanos has been defeating Kang not only in terms of grandeur but also in terms of popularity; blame Marvel for this. In terms of popularity as well, Thanos is unmatched.
So generally, fans are also ditching the idea of Kang the Conqueror and welcoming the reappearance of Thanos.
And as the makers have already killed him several times through the mainstream storyline and What If, the number stands as high as six. Thanos is also the most killed character for Marvel to date, so the love and appreciation are real.
Also, as Kang is now trapped in the real world of legal travels and there are some talks about the replacement, there isn’t any concrete news; a new Thanos appearance won’t really hurt. Especially as the multiverse has been unlocked, any character can be brought back from death.
But in a recent interview, Josh Brolin, the legend behind the voice of Thanos, speculated that there might be a project where Thanos can appear, and that too in the mainstream universe.
Brolin, though in a superficial way, says that he heard talk about the makers bringing him back. Though the news isn’t written in stone, it is enough to let the fans speculate.
And one more face-off won’t be the end of the world for the Avengers, or will it be? The question remains.
