The first-ever exclusive clip from the upcoming Disney+ series, Star Wars: The Acolyte features a physical fight between Lee Jung-jae’s Sol (A powerful Jedi master) and Amandla Stenberg’s Mae (former Padawan turned dangerous warrior) without the use of lightsabers. How does it look? Well, we are not going to lie to you, folks! It looks horrible!
The latest clip from The Acolyte looks really bad. The entire fight sequence between Sol and Mae looks off. It feels slow, sluggish, and poorly choreographed. And most importantly, it is nowhere near the quality of the physical battles and lightsaber duels featured in the prequel trilogy. While acting in the prequel trilogy may be debated, it undeniably offered some of the most impressive physical action sequences in the Star Wars universe. Those sequences were exhilarating and fast-paced, equipped with more acrobatic choreography compared to the original trilogy. Let’s hope the rest of ‘The Acolyte’ delivers more compelling and breathtaking fight scenes for fans.
The Obi-Wan Kenobi (2022) series’ fight choreography disappointed many fans with its slow pacing and underwhelming execution as well. It lacked the intensity expected from Star Wars battles. The much-anticipated rematch between Obi-Wan and Darth Vader, a highlight of the prequel trilogy, failed to live up to the hype due to the choreography. For many viewers, the poorly choreographed fight sequences and lightsaber battles spoiled the entire series for them. With some fans already expressing concerns about the show’s direction, The Acolyte can’t afford to disappoint fans with underwhelming fight scenes.
Star Wars: The Acolyte will premiere on Disney+ Hotstar on June 4, 2024. Stay tuned for more updates.
