Is The 'Sword' Of Hema Committee Report Going Beyond Its Limit

The Hema committee report submitted to the Govt. of Kerala regarding the atrocities and partiality to the actors, crew members, junior artists, or daily wage workers was able to acknowledge various sensitive and serious issues happening in the film industry. This report is a remarkable achievement by its authorities and coordinators. But is it now becoming a tool to pursue unnecessities illegally? The recent stories happening in the Kerala film circle show something like this, and so is the query.

A story that was in a hot discussion about two days ago has now almost been proven to be a false allegation. Even though, there are authorities to officially make the verdict, the proof and statements are making the allegation to be non-credible. This will badly affect the seriousness of the report and will favour the real culprits if it is not taken care of.

A popular actor in the industry, who is expected to be a sort of victim regarding this false notion, has immediately conducted a press conference and made his statement in an accurate, brief, and clear manner which is an applaudable effort. The acceptance of co-operating with the police investigation and trust in the judicial system of the actor is commendable. The actor has made his presence in other regional languages like Tamil and Telugu and is expected to do a highly anticipated movie.

This must be able to be resolved by proper investigation within its stipulated time with the same effort for what is doing the same in the justice for its ‘victim’.

There might be so many young and budding actors who can be utilized for a ‘honey trap’ using this esteemed report. Lending the words quoted by Martin Luther King Jr. – “Within the best of us, there is some evil, and within the worst of us, there is some good.”
