When was the last time you heard of any original series getting released on Voot Select? Umm, if you remember then the last big shot by the platform was The Great Wedding Of Munnes sometime in August 2022.
And after that? No records in memory. The platform is simply dead in bringing something to the audience. They grabbed the streaming rights of some biggies like Vikram Vedha and Bhediya. Although they were fiascoes at the box office, they are still awaited for the OTT.
But even after several months and infinite rumors, there is absolutely no news about the potential release of the films.
Regardless, the reason behind is said to be the merger of Jio Cinema and Voot Select. Before IPL, Voot Select and Jio Cinema are supposed to merge and there are “PROMISES” of seamless streaming.
And the OTT release of Vikram Vedha and Bhediya are kept for the big drops on the new merged platform. It seems like a good strategy but there is a big problem.
The rise of Voot Select after the merger will be the rise of “Evil Dead Rises”.
It will be a dead rise because the platform is simply inactive in bringing any new content from the past many many months. Also, it is Evil to those who bought the subscription and have nothing new to benefit from. All they can do is watch the existing films and shows.
How are they possibly thinking of a smooth resurrection when they have already destroyed themselves in the eyes of the public with their severe stealth mode?
It is not only an injustice to the people who bought the subscription to Voot Select but the promises of a merger are also a castle built on a marsh.
