Ishaan Khatter Shares First Look of Mira Nair’s a Suitable Boy

Mira Niar’s upcoming adaptation of Vikram Seth’s magnum opus novel A Suitable Boy for the digital domain has netizens in a tizzy with anticipation. And expectations rose manifold when Ishaan Khatter today shared an interesting first look from the web adaptation on his Instagram account.

The poster has Ishaan Khatter sprawled on a swing, looking with lovelorn eyes at a beauteous Tabu. A stunning backdrop, with vivid colours, completes the look.

While the narrative focuses on the young and spirited protagonist Lata, played by Tanya Maniktala (Flames fame), Ishaan Khatter plays the crucial role of Maan Kapoor, headstrong son of politician Mahesh Kapoor, who falls for a courtesan, portrayed by Tabu. Ram Kapoor is essaying the role of Mahesh Kapoor.

A Suitable Boy is being made as a six-part series commissioned by BBC One, and produced by Lookout Point. The novel has been adapted for the screen by screenwriter Andrew Davies.

Besides the aforementioned actors, A Suitable Boy also features a hefty ensemble cast, comprising Rasika Dugal, Shahana Goswami, Namit Das, Gagan Dev Riar, Danesh Razvi, Mikhail Sen, Vijay Verma, Vivek Gomber and Mahira Kakkar.
