Anushka Sharma is making a comeback to acting after half a decade with her debut OTT feature film ‘Chakda ‘Xpress’ and filming for the same is now complete. Helmed by Prosit Roy (‘Pari’), ‘Chakda ‘Xpress’ will premiere exclusively on Netflix in 2023.
Now in post production, ‘Chakda ‘Xpress’ is a sports biopic that traces the glorious journey of one of the fastest female pacers in the history of world cricket, Jhulan Goswami, as she moves up the ladder despite the countless hindrances posed by misogynistic politics to fulfil her only dream: to play cricket.
Other than Anushka Sharma, ‘Chakda ‘Xpress’ also stars Renuka Shahane, Mahesh Thakur and Anshul Chauhan in prominent roles. The announcement of the shoot wrap came with a bunch of pictures of the cast and crew along with Jhulan Goswami herself giving the final clap for the film.
Anushka Sharma was last seen on the big screen in the 2018 film ‘Zero’ alongside Shah Rukh Khan and Katrina Kaif. Post that she was busy producing OTT contents like ‘Bulbbul’, ‘Paatal Lok’, ‘Mai: A Mother’s Rage and ‘Qala’ through her Clean Slate Filmz.
‘Chakda ‘Xpress’ is produced by Karnesh Ssharma under his Clean Slate Filmz banner and will release soon only on Netflix.
