Around a month back, we had informed our readers regarding Vidya Balan starring in a romantic comedy-drama movie alongside Pratik Gandhi, Ileana D’Cruz, and Sendhil Ramamurthy in the lead roles. And earlier today, the makers have announced filming wrap for the yet-untitled film.
The romantic comedy-drama movie, which is being touted as an inhibited take on contemporary relationships, was set for a 2022 release. The movie was initially filmed in locations across Mumbai and the shoot has finally concluded amidst a wonderful winter spell in the scenic hill town of Ooty.
Helmed by ad filmmaker Shirsha Guha Thakurta in her feature film directorial debut, the film would mark Vidya Balan’s first collaboration with Applause Entertainment and would reunite her with ‘Tumhari Sulu’ producer Ellipsis Entertainment. She is essaying a character called Kavya in the film.
Vidya Balan is still basking in the favorable reviews for her performance in Amit Masurkar’s ‘Sherni’ that was released on Amazon Prime Video. She will next be seen in Suresh Triveni’s ‘Jalsa’ co-starring Shefali Shah.
Coming back to the untitled rom-com film, it also includes ‘Scam 1992’ star Pratik Gandhi, who became an overnight sensation after Hansal Mehta’s highly acclaimed web series. The actor was last seen in ‘Bhavai’, Gujarati series ‘Vitthal Teedi’, and a short film ‘Shimmy’. While his forthcoming acting projects include ‘Six Suspects’, ‘Who Ladki Hai Kahaan’, ‘Dedh Bigha Zameen’, and ‘Atithi Bhooto Bhava’, etc.
Moreover, for ‘Barfi’ actress Ileana D’Cruz, who was last seen in Abhishek Bachchan starrer ‘The Big Bull’, her forthcoming acting projects include ‘Unfair and Lovely’ co-starring Randeep Hooda and the Ajay Devgn starrer highly anticipated Disney+ Hotstar series ‘Rudra: The Edge of Darkness’.
The movie would also feature Indian origin American actor Sendhil Ramamurthy, who is known for his roles in sci-fi series ‘Heroes’, ‘Covert Affairs’, and more recently on Netflix comedy-drama show ‘Never Have I Ever’. Previously, he had also been a part of other Indian projects namely Raj & DK’s ‘The Family Man’ and ‘Shor in the City’. He will next be seen in the fantasy film ‘The Secret Art of Human Flight’.
