There is an exciting piece of update for fans of the fantasy sitcom ‘Wizards of Waverly Place’. It has been revealed and confirmed that the show is being revived after more than a decade since the last season ended and that a pilot for a sequel to the comedy series has been greenlit by Disney.
Until now, ‘Wizards of Waverly Place’ has had four seasons which ran from 2007 to 2012. It featured ‘Only Murders In the Building’ star Selena Gomez in the role of a teenage wizard Alex Russo, who lives in New York City with her two wizard brothers Justin (David Henrie) and Max (Jake T. Austin). They must compete with each other to retain their magical powers permanently and are trained by their father, a former wizard.
In the upcoming season of ‘Wizards of Waverly Place’, Selena Gomez will be seen in a guest role while David Henry has been enlisted as a series regular. He will reprise his role as Justin, who has now given up his magical powers and is happily living an ordinary life with his family. But the goings-on take an interesting turn when a powerful young wizard named Billie (played by Janice LeAnn Brown) shows up at his place to get trained in wizardry.
