Globally renowned movies database entertainment portal IMDb houses a list/widget of the most anticipated new Indian movies and shows (both theatrical and OTT) that ascertains the real-time popularity of that title. This is determined by the number of pageviews these titles are generating on IMDb. Each title is then ranked by IMDb as per the aggregate number of pageviews.
As far as today’s Indian films and series are concerned, the most anticipated title on IMDb is the fourth instalment of the YRF spy universe – ‘Pathaan’. Helmed by Siddharth Anand, the action thriller movie features superstar Shah Rukh Khan in the titular role of a daredevil RAW agent and co-stars John Abraham and Deepika Padukone.
The second buzziest Indian title on IMDb as of now is Rohit Shetty’s period comedy film ‘Cirkus’ and features Ranveer Singh in a double role. The film is based on William Shakespeare’s famous play ‘The Comedy of Errors’. The film’s story follows two sets of identical twins who are separated at birth and when they meet after many years, it leads to a hilarious turn of events.
And the third most anticipated Indian title on IMDb has been bagged by the upcoming drama movie ‘Varisu’ starring Vijay and Rashmika Mandanna in the lead roles. The film’s story is about a happy-go-lucky man whose life takes a drastic turn after his foster father suddenly dies.
Besides theatrical releases, there is just one Indian OTT title which was able to make it to the IMDb list. And it’s Disney+ Hotstar’s action-comedy web series ‘Taaza Khabar’ with the popular Youtuber Bhuvan Bam in the lead role.
