It’s True! Netflix Zombie Thriller ‘All of Us Are Dead’ Renewed for Season 2

It seems like Netflix is getting second seasons of it’s hit Asian shows rolling, this season. Japanese hit show ‘Alice is Borderland’ season two will soon stream on Netflix worldwide and Squid Game season 2 news is all over. Here is another worthy addition to this list. An addition that would make a lot of you super happy! Well, we have the zombies scaring us once again. Netflix just today, renewed ‘All of Us Are Dead‘ for Season 2.

The zombie horror is one of the Netflix’s top ten non-English-language shows of all time. It is also the second most successful Korean-produced show, after Squid Game. This news of renewal was announced as a part of Netflix’s Geeked week. The event was intended to announce new and returning shows, in a move of sorts to establish Netflix as the streaming pioneer of horror and sci-fi content. And why would it not invest more in horror and sci-fi when reports suggest a growth of 30% and 20%, respectively for both the genres from 2020 to 2021 for the streamer.

Based on the Korean webtoon “Now at Our School” by Joo Dong-geun, “All of Us Are Dead” revolves around a High-school that falls prey to a zombie apocalypse as a result of a failed science experiment. Isolated from the rest of the world, the high-schoolers are left to defend themselves and their peers, all in hopes to make it out alive. The first season ended on a cliffhanger, where six high-schoolers survive the outbreak and are rescued and quarantined by the government. While class president Nam-ra is now a more evolved form of a zombie,i.e a half-zombie.

In addition to Park Ji-hu, Yoon Chan-young, Cho Yi-hyun and Park Solomon, the series also features Yoo In-soo, Lee Yoo-mi, Kim Byung-chul, Lee Kyu-hyung and Jeon Bae-soo. The series was adapted by Chun Sung-il who served as head writer and Lee Jae-kyoo, with Kim Nam-su directing the pilot season. More details on the second season has not come out yet. It’s no surprise that ‘All of Us are Dead’ is a hot Netflix India audience favourite. The show trends on Netflix India Top 10 almost every day, so we can deduce fans’ excitement! We are excited too!
