Earlier in the year, Jack Gyllenhaal’s flick Velvet Buzzsaw got a Netflix release. It was the first association of the actor with the streaming site. The movie was also given a small theatrical release as well.
A few months later, another film featuring Jack Gyllenhaal has been picked by the online giant. Netflix has announced that it will be joining hands with Jack and actress Jessica Chasten to bring the widely popular game, The Division on screen.
Adding further excitement to the project is that it would be helmed by Leitch, who is the person behind Deadpool 2. He has also directed Atomic Blonde and is getting ready for new release Hobbs & Shaw. Rafe Judkins is entrusted with the responsibility of the writing of the movie, which is set in a futuristic world.
New about The Division first broke more than a couple of years ago. However, since then there has been no movement except the mention of the original cast, now and then. It is only now after Netflix entered the fray, that the project is finally going to take off.
