“Jai Bhim” star Suriya and Bala comes together for “Suriya 41” after a span of 11 years; the first union of them was “Nandha”, that served as a stellar breakthrough in Suriya’s career, followed by “Pithamagan”. “Pithamagan” was an action-drama that also starred superstar Vikram.
This is their third collaboration and reportedly the film went on floors on Monday. Krithi Shetty has been zeroed in for the female lead. She has previously starred alongside some brilliant actors in Telugu industry: Uppena opposite Vijay Sethupathi, Shyam Singha Roy opposite Nani and Bangarraju opposite Naga Chaitanya.
According to the reports of Pinkvilla, Suriya will portray a dual role in this, one as a commoner, and the other being that of a deaf and mute person. He will also be seen essaying a role of a fisherman in the movie.
Kollywood star Suriya’s 41st movie will be produced by Jyotika under the 2D Entertainments banner. Mamita Baiju is also roped in for a prominent role. The shooting will be held in Kanyakumari and Rameshwaram, in a village set for over a span of 3-4 months.
On Monday, Suriya shared a couple of pictures on Twitter and Instagram and wrote, “Been waiting for #directorbala na my mentor to say Action!!! …After 18 years, it’s happiness today…! This moment… we need all your wishes! #suriya41”. The first photo features Suriya’s and Helmer Bala’s faces in an announcement poster and in the next picture we see them smiling towards each other.
In 2021, Suriya’s highly acclaimed crime- drama ‘Jai Bhim’ was featured on The Academy’s YouTube channel under the section ‘Scene At The Academy’, making all Indians feel gratified.
