Applause Entertainment in association with BBC Studios India is all set for another British show adaptation. They are getting together to create the Indian version of crime drama series ‘Guilt’.
This latest series, which marks Applause’s 25th show, will by helmed by ‘Bunty Aur Babli’ director Shaad Ali and will star Jaideep Ahlawat and Mohd. Zeeshan Ayyub in the lead. Ali is already working with Applause on Indian adaptation of the popular French series ‘Call My Agent’.
The story of ‘Guilt’ follows two brothers who get involved in a hit and run accident that changes their lives forever. The mystery-thriller series premiered in 2019 and is set to return for a season two soon.
Coming to its Indian adaptation, Ahlawat (‘Paatal Lok’, ‘Raees’, ‘Raazi’) and Ayyub (‘Tandav’, ‘Chhalaang’, ‘A Simple Murder’) will reprise the role of the brothers in a six part series. The star cast will be joined by Tina Desai (‘Table No. 21’, ‘Sense8’), Shruti Seth (‘Shararat’, ‘Mentalhood’), Maya Alagh (‘Adalat’, ‘Page 3’), Mugdha Godse (‘Fashion’, ‘All The Best’) and Satish Kaushik (‘Mr. India’, ‘Kaagaz’, ‘Scam 1992’).
‘Guilt’ will be the second collaboration between BBC Studios India and Applause following the adaptation of another British show Luther that is currently under production. It will come to Disney+Hotstar as ‘Rudra: The Edge Of Darkness’ starring Ajay Devgn in the lead. Streaming platform for the yet to be titled ‘Guilt’ adaptation is yet to be revealed by the makers.
