Jake Gyllenhaal’s ’The Guilty’ On Netflix Grips With Just A Call!

Netflix has dropped the teaser for Jake Gyllenhaal’s upcoming film ‘The Guilty’ and interestingly despite being just an audio it will keep you hooked throughout. Helmed by Antoine Fuqua (Southpaw, The Magnificent Seven), ‘The Guilty’ will premiere in select theatres in September and on Netflix on 1st October, 2021.

The teaser is a video of dialogues said appearing on the screen and eventually combining together to form Joe Byler’s (Gyllenhaal) face. Joe, a troubled police detective demoted to 911 operator duty answers a distressed call where the girl on the other end seems to be in danger and is so scared that the only information she could give him was that she has been abducted.

Nic Pizzolatto (True Detective) has written ‘The Guilty’, a dramatic thriller based on the Gustav Moller-directed Danish drama “Den Skyldige,” which premiered at the 2018 Sundance Film Festival.

The film takes place over the course of a single morning in a 911 dispatch call center. Call operator Joe Bayler (Gyllenhaal) tries to save a caller in grave danger—but he soon discovers that nothing is as it seems, and facing the truth is the only way out.

‘The Guilty’ stars Jake Gyllenhaal, Peter Sarsgaard, Riley Keough, Byron Bowers, Da’Vine Joy Randolph, David Castañeda, Christina Vidal, Paul Dano, Ethan Hawke, Adrian Martinez, Bill Burr, Beau Knapp and Edi Patterson.
