James Gunn Addresses Casting Rumors For Future DC Projects

DC is going through a pretty hot phase, and the revamp is bringing a lot of attention to the franchise, especially in terms of setting up a new timeline. The casting rumors always make certain headlines, and if you talk about the casting of Superman: Legacy, it is no less thrilling than the storyline.

Throughout the years, Gunn has been a vocal character and hasn’t let go of the opportunity to address the ongoing rumors.

“I get asked about rumors of various actors being cast in various roles every day,” Gunn writes. “Just a blanket rule to keep in mind while assessing whether these rumors have any truth to them (99% of the time they’re false) – we are never going to cast roles without scripts.”

Gunn, while addressing the fans, also mentions that Drew Petrota will also be added to the Legacy as the prop master of the project.

As of now, some of the pivotal roles and their casts have been announced. The star-studded cast includes David Corenswet (Superman), Rachel Brosnahan (Lois Lane), Nicholas Hoult (Lex Luthor), Skyler Gisondo, Sara Sampaio, María Gabriela de Faría, Isabela Merced, Nathan Fillion, Edi Gathegi, and Anthony Carrigan.

DC Studios co-CEO Peter Safran stated earlier this year that the upcoming Superman film diverges from an origin tale. Emphasizing Superman’s struggle to reconcile his Kryptonian roots with his human upbringing, the narrative explores his embodiment of values like truth, justice, and kindness in a modern world skeptical of such virtues.
