James Gunn Gives Exciting Update About Superman Legacy

The Man of Steel is ready to fly high in the sky again! Filmmaker and co-head of DC Studios, James Gunn, has confirmed that his upcoming directional, Superman: Legacy, is in the early pre-production stage.

Gunn announced on Superman’s anniversary:

Gunn has confirmed that the forthcoming Superman installment will not serve as an origin story for the beloved superhero. Instead, it will explore Clark Kent’s early days as Man of Steel. He starts residing in Metropolis and joins Daily Planet as a journalist. There, he meets the love of his life, Lois Lane. Additionally, the iconic character will try to reconcile his Kryptonian heritage with his human adoptive parents in Kansas. Both Gunn and Peter Safran have declared the film “the true beginning of the DCU”.

No actor has been finalized for the movie’s cast. Although, we do know that Gunn and his team have hired a casting director for the film. According to several reports, the production team is looking for actors who are 22-26 years old. It will be interesting to see who will don the iconic red cape this time.

The addition of Lois Lane and Jimmy Olsen has been confirmed. Additionally, Lex Luthor will be the primary antagonist (no surprises here).

Gunn has described the Last Son of Krypton in Superman: Legacy as “the embodiment of truth, justice, and the American way; he’s kindness in a world that thinks of kindness as old fashioned.”

James Gunn’s Superman: Legacy will hit the theatres in 2025. Stay tuned for more updates.
