Janhvi Kapoor’s ‘Ulajh’ Postponed, Sets New Release Date

Janhvi Kapoor’s upcoming spy thriller film ‘Ulajh’ was scheduled to release in cinemas on 5th July but the makers have now decided to postpone the film to 2nd August instead. ‘Ulajh’ is helmed by National Award winning filmmaker Sudhanshu Saria.

This move of shifting the release date by ‘Ulajh’ makers is apparently strategic to avoid the clash with Ajay Devgn and Tabu starrer love saga ‘Auron Mein Kahan Dum Tha’, and Karan Johar’s action thriller ‘Kill’. Other probable cause for the delay, and what’s mostly cited by the makers, could be technical issues in post production work.

‘Ulajh’ is touted to be a stylized international thriller drama and centres around the high stakes world of international diplomacy where the price of secrets is higher. Janhvi Kapoor stars in the film as an Indian Foreign Services (IFS) officer.

In ‘Ulajh’ a young IFS officer who belongs to a prominent family of patriots gets embroiled in a dangerous personal conspiracy while being far away from home and at a post that will define her career.

Written by Parveez Sheikh and Sudhanshu Saria, ‘Ulajh’ also stars Gulshan Devaiah, Roshan Matthew, Adil Hussain, Rajesh Tailang, Meiyang Chang, Sachin Khedekar, Rajendra Gupta and Jitendra Joshi.

‘Ulajh’ is produced by Vineet Jain under his Junglee Pictures banner which is known for its films like ‘Raazi’, ‘Badhai Do’, ‘Dil Dhadakne Do’, ‘Talvar’, ‘Bareilly Ki Barfi’, and more. ‘Ulajh’ will now release in cinemas on 2nd August, 2024.
