Janhvi Kapoor is going places. After essaying a slew of arguably unique characters in all her films until now, the pretty actress will don the role of a diplomat in her upcoming spy thriller, titled ‘Ulajh’. Producers Junglee Pictures just dropped the first teaser and release date for Ulajh in theatres. The movie premieres in theatres on 5th July, 2024.
Spy thriller ‘Ulajh’ stars Janhvi Kapoor as a young diplomat, who is assigned a prestigious posting. She comes from an illustrious family of freedom fighters, but gets caught in a dangerous conspiracy that will turn her into a traitor against her own country. The Ulajh teaser is gritty and gripping, promising an edge-of-the-seat thriller to unfold.
The Ulajh teaser gives us no glimpse of the male leads of the movie—Gulshan Devaiah and Roshan Mathew. However, the menacing voiceover in the teaser is most definitely of Gulshan Devaiah, giving us ample hint that he’s most likely the antagonist in Ulajh.
Ulajh is set in the backdrop of the world of diplomats and spies, quite different from what Indian cinema has been churning out currently. It is written and directed by Sudhanshu Saria, and co-written by Parveez Shaikh. Besides the primary cast, Ulajh stars Adil Hussain, Rajesh Tailang, Meiyang Chang, Rajendra Gupta, among others, in key roles.
