Disney+ Hotstar’s upcoming dark comedy crime film ‘Good Luck Jerry’ starring Janhvi Kapoor in the lead role is all set to start streaming on the OTT platform from 29th July onwards. Besides ‘Good Luck Jerry’, Janhvi Kapoor has an interesting line-up of films which are currently in different stages of production. For this article, we have compiled a list of Janhvi Kapoor’s upcoming movies along with their brief descriptions and expected release dates.
Mili
The film is the Hindi remake of the 2019 Malayalam survival thriller ‘Helen’. The movie’s story follows a nursing graduate who works part-time in a restaurant. One night, the protagonist gets accidently locked inside the restaurant’s freezer room. How her body begins to break down in the freezing cold and her desperate attempts to survive against all odds forms the film’s basic plot. The movie has been helmed by the parent film’s director Mathukutty Xavier with Janhvi Kapoor in the titular role. It’s expected to release before the end of 2022.
Mr. & Mrs. Mahi
The movie is being directed by Sharan Sharma, who had previously directed Janhvi Kapoor in the critically acclaimed ‘Gunjan Saxena: The Kargil Girl’. The cricket-based movie features Janhvi Kapoor alongside Rajkummar Rao in the lead roles and they are essaying the characters of Mahima and Mahendra, respectively. The basic premise is about two people chasing a common dream. Initially slated for October 2022 release, the film is now expected to come out in the first half of 2023 .
Bawaal
The film is being helmed by ‘Dangal’ director Nitesh Tiwari and is being touted as a timeless love story featuring Varun Dhawan and Janhvi Kapoor in the lead roles. The story is apparently about a small-town man who falls for a beautiful woman and badly wants to marry her. The film has been shot in several European countries and is scheduled to release on 7th April 2023.
