Janhvi Kapoor‘s next theatrical film ‘Mili’ is going to be released on the 4th of November across India. And the streaming rights are bagged by the OTT giant Netflix India. The satellite rights for the film are with Zee Cinema. Mili is a survival thriller directed by Mathukutty Xavier. With Mili, Xavier is remaking the 2019 Malayalam film ‘Helen’ which was directed by himself.
Mili is the story of a girl who suddenly gets stuck inside a freezer and struggles to get out. It reminds of Rajkumar Rao’s ‘Trapped’ but in a far more dangerous and horrific way. There are not many survival thrillers made in India, especially in Bollywood. Janhvi Kapoor has certainly come out of her comfort zone to choose such a challenging role. She was last seen in ‘Good Luck Jerry’, directed by Siddharth Sengupta. It was the remake of the Tamil Movie ‘Kolamavu Kokila’ starring Nayanthara. After Mili, Janhvi Kapoor will be seen in ‘Mr. And Mrs. Mahi’ she will be reuniting with Rajkumar Rao again here. Nitesh Tiwary’s ‘Bawal’ will be the next lineup for her.
Good Luck Jerry did not get very good views and Janhvi is doing back to back remakes from the south Indian film industries. But taking the uniqueness of the content and the deftness of the director, it can be said that ‘Mili’ has a greater chance of success than Good Luck Jerry. Her next lineup is great with originals and it seems that the next year is going to be quite a successful one for her.
