Japan Requests For ‘Bawaal’ In Japanese Audio, Thanks To WW2 Reference

Producer Sajid Nadiadwala has stated that there have been some requests from Japan for Japanese Audio of his upcoming production ‘Bawaal‘. ‘Bawaal’ is a romantic drama that deals with the conflicts of a middle class couple after they go on a trip to Europe. The movie stars Janhvi Kapoor and Varun Dhawan in leading roles and has other actors like Manoj Pahwa and Mukesh Tiwari in important roles.

Bawaal is directed by Nitesh Tiwari, one of the most trusted filmmakers of the industry. Nitesh Tiwari is known for films like Chillar Party, Chhichhore and Dangal. His filmography is enough evidence that Bawaal will not be just another regular romantic drama. The trailer showed the dialogues using World War 2 as a metaphor to describe the conflict between the two main characters. It can be a vague comparison but it seems like Japan likes it.

Sajid Nadiadwala has said, “The requests have come in from the Japanese audience. They have expressed their interest to dub it in the local language as due to the World War 2 connection, the film has the potential to resonate with the audience in Japan. There are conversations in Japan taking Bawaal as the subject matter of the film that touches upon the themes and events surrounding World War.”

Bawaal is going to have a digital premiere on Amazon Prime Video all over the world. It will be releasing on the 21st of July. It is indeed great news that audiences abroad are so eager to watch an Indian film. We have all trust in Nitesh Tiwari and hopefully Bawaal will not disappoint the audiences in India or abroad.
