Jared Leto is a highly talented actor and known for bringing reality to his characters. We saw his talent in House Of Gucci but whenever we shift to his portrayal of comic book characters then it is nothing but an absolute fiasco.
The first example is that of DC Universe in 2016’s Suicide Squad. In that film Jared Leto played the crime prince Joker which is remembered for being absolutely cringeworthy. For that, he would send disturbing stuff to his co-stars for getting into the character. But we all know the fiasco it was and is perhaps the worst human portrayal of the epic character.
The recent example is that of Morbius. Although it is a Sony film, it’s based on a Marvel character. The film opened at 19% ratings on Rotten Tomatoes and recorded one of the lowest scores ever.
Even the buzz of the film was so cold that the director himself organised QnA session to give out spoilers. Even that didn’t work and the box office collection was nothing but appreciable.
Seeing these two observations, we can say that Jared Leto has a sad story with comic character based films.
