Jayasurya, the actor whose film (‘Sufiyum Sujathayum’) started the OTT trend in the Malayalam film Industry is back with another movie heading for a direct-to-OTT release – the upcoming film, ‘Sunny‘. We got a very short teaser for this movie, around 7 months ago – which didn’t give us much about this upcoming film. Check it out at the end of this teaser trailer.
When it comes to teaser trailers, ‘Sunny’ is as cryptic as it gets. The entirety of the 40-second video focuses on the face of Jayasurya where he literally goes through various emotions. We still do not have any idea about the story or the genre of ‘Sunny’, but the teaser has us excited though. There has been no official announcement regarding the OTT release, but with the current situation in Kerala – we are not surprised by this turn of events.
Jayasurya has had a quiet year in Mollywood so far. His 2020 released ‘Sufiyum Sujathayum‘ AKA the first Malayalam film to release directly to an OTT platform didn’t do well and his 2021 released ‘Vellam’ was okayish at best – although the actor was good in the latter film. Jayasurya fans have been waiting eagerly for another one of his “mass films” and it looks like ‘Sunny” is next up on his list.
This year is going to be a busy year for the actor with him returning to be a part of the third film, ‘Aadu 3 3D’ of the comedy film franchise ‘Aadu’. The actor will also be part of the Malayalam reboot film ‘Kathanar’ where he will portray the famed Syrian Orthodox priest from 9th century Kerala, Kadamattathu Kathanar, who many claim to have had supernatural powers.
