Spike Lee is definitely on a mission to set up a multiverse of Asian remakes, and in his latest adventure, Lee is working on a remake of “High and Low.” We have some major cast confirmations for this project.
This isn’t the first time we will be seeing such a remake; Lee is very much interested in that craft. Previously, he made an attempt to do so with “Oldboy,” a rampage fest, but it turned into something abominable.
The cast we have for “High and Low” has definite potential. Also, let’s talk more about the remake, but the original was made by Akira Kurosawa and came out in 1963. If you are making a list of thrillers, “High and Low” will definitely make the charts.
Talking about the addition to the cast, Denzel Washington was previously confirmed, but now he will be joined by Jeffrey Wright from “American Fiction.”
“High and Low,” produced by A24, features Todd Black from Escape Artists and Jason Michael Berman from Mandalay Pictures. Spike Lee directs and is an executive producer via his 40 Acres And A Mule Filmworks. The film will debut in theaters through A24 before its global release on Apple TV+.
