Jessica Jones fame Krysten Ritter has unveiled her brand new look, which teases her highly-anticipated MCU return. Ritter played the complex superhero in all three seasons of Netflix’s Jessica Jones series. In addition, she portrayed the same character in The Defenders (2017) series, starring alongside Charlie Cox (Daredevil), Mike Colter (Luke Cage), and Finn Jones (Iron Fist).
Ritter disclosed her new look via one of her recent Instagram stories, in which she posted a photo of herself with purple hair. The Breaking Bad actress has not yet confirmed her association with Marvel Studios. However, many fans strongly believe Ritter could return to the MCU as Jewel, Jessica Jones’ alter ego from the comics.
In the Jessica Jones comics and some earlier adaptations, Jessica went by the name Jewel when she first started out with her superpowers. Although, Netflix’s portrayal of the superhero was darker and more complicated than Jewel’s.
We are already seeing Hugh Jackman’s return as Wolverine in a comic-accurate costume in the upcoming Shawn Levy project, Deadpool & Wolverine. This raises the possibility that Krysten Ritter’s Jessica Jones could get a comic-accurate superhero suit as well. Season 1 of Jessica Jones actually teased the character’s vintage white-and-blue costume. However, Jones might receive an upgraded version of Jewel’s comic book suit.
Since the Defenders saga is canon in the MCU, a comeback for Krysten Ritter as the one and only Jessica Jones is something fans would love to see. Stay tuned for more updates.
