JioCinema Creates Chaos Before Cementing Merger

JioCinema and chaos—what a pair! Just when everything seems to be going smoothly, JioCinema hits the audience with a new issue. With the merger around the corner and the Competition Commission of India warning Disney and Reliance about the risks of monopoly, you’d think they’d be on their best behavior.

But one thing JioCinema excels at is “messing up the watching experience.” Viewers are currently facing a login issue where JioCinema automatically logs them out of their devices, mostly on televisions and PCs.

Fans are complaining that JioCinema is doing little to fix the issue, with some users experiencing this problem for over a week—an unacceptable situation for a leading OTT platform that’s about to become the biggest in India.

So, what’s the issue?

Users are being randomly logged out of their devices, causing significant inconvenience. Some users report being logged out 3-4 times in a single day. To make matters worse, when they try to log back in, they’re often unable to because the software is extremely glitchy.

Fans are understandably frustrated. It seems like every new day brings a new problem, and this is definitely turning people off. Problems like these were never faced by Hotstar users, and with Hotstar’s expertise in handling a large user base, JioCinema may have struck the deal of the century with the merger.

The main reason fans are complaining but not leaving the platform isn’t the library or the content offerings. It’s the free sports content and the dirt-cheap price tag that’s keeping them hooked.

JioCinema’s reputation is already not at its best, but if they can redeem themselves after the merger, it would be nothing short of a miracle. Until then, users will just have to deal with the problems.
