JioCinema is hosting the streaming of this year’s IPL too. We all know that the platform brought us last year’s IPL too and it is sort of hard to believe the numbers that JioCinema is throwing at us. They are quoting numbers like 29 crores which is very very hard to believe if not completely impossible.
Up until last year, you could see the number of users watching IPL at a particular instant of time. In the finale of IPL last year, the number was highest in the season with about 3.5 crores.
Now, JioCinema suddenly wants us to believe that 29 crore users watched the league match then it is just too much to ask.
People ain’t fool enough to believe the numbers and they are certainly gonna raise questions if not stop believing the numbers.
One reason for such high views could be the cumulative sum of all the clicks that the platform received for the match. Still, it is like murdering the overall transparency of the match that was present until last year.
It is sad but common users can’t really do anything about it. They are helpless and they would eventually stop believing the numbers anyway.
