Criminal Justice: A Family Matter, Season 4, is now streaming on JioHotstar, but not entirely. So far, only the first five episodes are available, not the entire season. As a result, a large section of the show’s fan base is unhappy with JioHotstar’s strategy of releasing episodes weekly.
Thanks to streaming platforms like Netflix, Indian OTT viewers have now grown accustomed to watching and enjoying all episodes of a season in a single binge-watch. This makes it harder for viewers, as they now have to wait each week for new episodes of Criminal Justice Season 4.
Nowadays, Indian audiences — especially urban and digitally savvy viewers — have developed a strong preference for binge-watching. This phenomenon has made them accustomed to watching shows at their own pace, sometimes in one sitting. Plus, this approach allows them to finish a series quickly to avoid spoilers and choose when and how much to watch.
@JioHotstar We are a dopamine nation.athere is a reason OTT works instead of cable and that is bcoz we dont have patience so who came up with the idea of releasing 1 ep per week for Criminal Justice 🤬

@JioHotstar decided not to watch Criminal Justice. In the era of OTT, thanks for reminding us of DD National days, where we used to painfully wait for a week to watch next episode of our favourite series.

You just took away the interest. Very sad.
Hey @JioHotstar People like to binge watch a series on OTT. It should be not like a weekend TV drama, where you release next episode after a week. Watching experience of Criminal Justice is being totally ruined by you by posting just a single episode.. 👎

Traditionally, Indian viewers were used to daily or weekly TV serials, but OTT has changed that mindset. There’s growing resistance to delayed gratification, particularly for crime dramas or thrillers, where suspense is the main hook.
Indian OTT viewers are evolving rapidly, and their expectations are shaped by global viewing standards. JioHotstar may need to rethink its release strategies, especially for a popular show like Criminal Justice. Otherwise, this format could risk alienating a chunk of its audience. Stay tuned for more updates.
