Joaquín Phoenix To Be Next Seen In Gay Love Story By Todd Haynes!

Joaquín Phoenix is all set to taste the success of Ari Aster’s upcoming horror film ‘Beau Is Afraid’. After that he has a few films in the pipeline that are highly anticipated by fans. ‘Joker 2: Folie À Deux’ will have Phoenix as the Joker and Lady Gaga as his love interest Harley Quinn. Apart from that, the actor will also be seen in the biopic of Napoleon Bonaparte.

But filmmaker Todd Haynes has announced a project with Joaquín Phoenix in the lead. In the Cannes Film Festival, in the premiere of his film ‘May December’, the filmmaker announced that his next film will be with the Academy Award winning actor. It will be a gay love story and it is not revealed yet who will be opposite Phoenix.

Todd Haynes has said, “The next film is a feature that’s an original script that I developed with Joaquin Phoenix based on some thoughts and ideas he brought to me. We basically wrote with him as a story writer. Me and Jon Raymond and Joaquin share the story credit. And we hope to be shooting it beginning early next year. It’s a gay love story set in 1930s L.A.”

The filmmaker is known for films like ‘Carol’, ‘Far From Heavens’, ‘Poison’, ‘Velvet Goldmine’ and it is known to all that he has a deft hand in romance. He has previously dealt with the subject of queen as well previously. It will be interesting to see what Joaquín Phoenix and Todd Haynes team up to do.
