Well, not exactly next week. ‘Jobless‘ is a new Marathi crime thriller webs series that will release for streaming on the last day of this month (August). So, in a couple of days, really. The Planet Marathi TV series is one of the five original shows slated to release on the platform for a global audience. These shows were greenlit at beginning of this month, to provide new and exciting content for the Marathi speaking community to binge on.
So far, two promotional trailers have been released for this upcoming show and it looks interesting so far. Set in a world not affected by COVID-19, the show follows Vijay Pathak who is portrayed by the Marathi actor, Survat Joshi. Viraj who is leading a happy and honest life with his wife and daughter suddenly becomes unemployed after his boss fires him for getting involved in a scam. He gets arrested for his crime and is sent to jail for an amount of time. His wife and daughter take on his debt and eventually leaves Vijay. Due to his arrest record, he is unable to find a job, after getting out of prison.
Unable to make ends meet, he ends up killing a man for a large sum of money. He is able to help his wife repay his supposed debt, but that is just the first step towards his long pain-filled journey of loneliness. The series is written by Amit Baiche, Projyot Lady and Sumedh. The original series is directed by Niranjan Dinkar Patki and Pankaj Nabd.
