Jogi; The Diljit Dosanjh Film Fails To Spark Emotion In Audience

Last week, Netflix India had a major release. We are talking about Diljit Dosanjh starrer Jogi. The film starring Dosanjh also stars Amyra Dastur, Paresh Pahuja, Zeeshan Ayyub, and Kumud Mishra in important roles.

Although it was the biggest release by the platform last week, Jogi couldn’t garner as many views as was expected from them. After the enormous success of Alia Bhatt starrer Darlings, expectations were high from Jogi.

Also, Darlings was the second most watched non-English film globally in its debut week. But sadly it is not the case with Jogi. Unfortunately, it was streamed less than a fiasco such as Ek Villain Returns.

If we consider the case of Sardar Udham then that movie had a lot of unsettling visuals and perhaps much more than Jogi. But the audience loved it and a big credi t goes to how the film was marketed by the makers. Unfortunately in the case of Jogi, the makers failed to touch the audience.

It was as if the makers were targeting a specific niche and failed to tell the story to the whole Indian mass.

Whatever the case may be, even the reviews didn’t help Jogi much. In fact, they were mixed. But this is not the first wasted opportunity by Netflix.
