John Abraham’s One Sided Love For Action Leads To ‘Tariq’

On the occasion of 75th Indian Independence Day today, John Abraham has announced his next film ‘Tariq’. Slated to release on 15th August, 2023, ‘Tariq’ looks like yet another patriotic/action based films coming from John Abraham.

John, who has been seen in more versatile roles before like comedy, romance and more, in recent past has taken preference for action and patriotism based roles. Barring the 2019 action comedy ‘Pagalpanti’ this trend is evident from the slew of his recent films like ‘Attack’, ‘Satyamev Jayate 2’, ‘Mumbai Saga’, ‘Ek Villain Returns’, ‘Batla House’, ‘Romeo Akbar Walter’ and more.

In fact his upcoming line up is no different. Whether it’s the much awaited Shah Rukh led ‘Pathaan’ or Dinesh Vijan’s action thriller drama ‘Tehran’. Even this latest film ‘Tariq’ has that patriotic feel going both by its announcement and release dates.

While most actors believe in doing as many different kinds of roles as possible, John Abraham doesn’t seem to shy away from his love for action and patriotism. But it appears the genre doesn’t seem to revert him with similar liking.

Talk about ‘Attack’, ‘Ek Villain Returns’, ‘Satyamev Jayate 2’ or ‘Mumbai Saga’, all of these films released this year or last and failed to perform at the box office. Moreover these did not receive much praise from the critics either. And in such case how wise it is to keep giving the audience the same old thing which does not impress them anymore.

Coming to the most latest announcement today ‘Tariq’ stars John Abraham who is also producing it under his banner JA Entertainment. Coming from the makers of ‘Batla House’ and ‘Tehran’, ‘Tariq’ is helmed by Arun Gopalan who is also directing ‘Tehran’.

Written by Ritesh Shah and Lalit Marathe, ‘Tariq’ is said to be based on a true story and is produced by Shobhna Yadav and Sandeep Leyzell. The film marks John Abraham’s next creative collaboration with Bake My Cake Film after ‘Batla House’ and ‘Tehran’.
