Jordan Peele, the modern Horror auteur needs no introduction. His previous films ‘Get Out’ and ‘Us’ have aged spectacularly well besides the path-breaking politics they dealt with. His latest film ‘Nope’, a yet another startling social commentary also falls under the neo-western sci-fi horror genre released at the movies on 22nd July to positive-mixed critical reception. The film selectively released in India in the month of august and is finally out on streaming as well. Nope is currently out streaming on Amazon Prime Video India and we can’t recommend the film enough.
Unarguably one of the most revered and appreciated films of the year, Nope is also an invasion thriller. It follows a man and his sister as they discover something sinister in the skies above their California horse ranch, while the owner of a nearby theme park tries to profit from the mysterious, otherworldly phenomenon. Nope stars Daniel Kaluuya and Leke Palmer as horse-wrangling siblings attempting to capture evidence of an unidentified flying object in the sky.
The invasion thriller also found great admiration for its cinematography and sound design.Both written and directed by Jordan Peele, Nope is also co-produced by Peele’s Monkeypaw productions. Nope marks Daniel Kaluuya’s reunion with Peele after the phenomenal Get Out, joined by Steven Yeun, Keke Palmer, Michael Wincott, Barbie Ferreira and Brandon Perea.
Nope grossed around $171 million worldwide, and received praise for its ambition, performances, themes, cinematography, visual style, musical score, and direction.
