The official trailer of Jothi, starring Vetri, is out now. In addition to the leading man, the film’s cast has Sheela Rajkumar, Pujitha Devaraju, and many more performers. Helmed by Krishna Paramathma, the movie focuses on a gripping battle that takes place between truth and falsehood.
Jothi’s trailer reveals that the story is inspired by various horrifying real cases in India related to pregnancy. In 2020, more than 11,000 mothers lost their newborn babies through different petrifying means. The antagonist in the movie slits the stomach of a pregnant lady and steals her baby four days before her delivery. This disturbing event causes a police team, led by Vetri’s character, to find the culprit.
Additionally, cops will be seen dealing with three types of suspects in the upcoming Tamil thriller. First are those who spill everything as they get scared from their police beating. Second, those who give some clues to the cops but don’t want to help them properly. And the last ones are those who don’t yield to any sort of inquiry.
Vetri commenced his journey in Tamil cinema with the critically acclaimed thriller, 8 Thottakkal, produced by his father, M. Vellapandian. Apart from this, he has also starred in Jiivi, C/O Kadhal, and Vanam. The prominent Kollywood performer has wrapped up the productions of Memories and Red Sandal. Plus, he is busy filming Theenkirai, Kannagi, Bumper, Jiivi 2, and the untitled Shaams directional.
Jothi has been bankrolled by SP Raja Sethupathi under the SPR Studios. The forthcoming Vetri starrer will hit the theatres on July 28. Stay tuned for more updates.
