Last week was kind of ominous. Two very good shows started streaming on Indian OTT and both of them are struggling for views. We are talking about Beef on Netflix and Jubilee on Prime Video.
We have a separate report on Beef so you may check that out but let’s talk about our very own Indian show Jubilee. The series made by Vikramaditya Motwane is undoubtedly one of the best shows we have seen in a while. Although in a completely different genre, it is as good as Farzi.
But while Farzi was a roaring success globally, the views don’t say the same thing about Jubilee. Needless to say, Farzi was an instant success that started trending globally. In fact, the makers declared that Farzi is the most watched Indian web series ever.
On the other hand, Jubilee is failing to even leave a mark on the global charts. When abominations like Four More Shots Please were appearing in the list quite frequently, it is sad to see Jubilee not hitting there.
Unlike Netflix, Prime Video does not reveal the official views charts for their titles. So we have to rely upon reliable third-party websites that have a reputation for publishing unbiased data.
In this case, it is FlixPatrol which doesn’t say that Jubilee is in the international list of most viewed series on Prime Video.
