Jude Law Plays Villain In Disney’s Live-Action Remake Of A Classic!

Disney’s new ‘Peter Pan & Wendy’ will be a live-action, retelling the story of ‘Peter Pan,’ based on Disney’s 1983 animated movie. Jude Law, well known for his characters as Albus Dumbledore in Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald; Dr Watson in Sherlock Holmes (2009) and Sherlock Holmes: A Game of Shadows (2011); Yon-Rogg in superhero film Captain Marvel, will play the villainous character of Captain Hook in ‘Peter Pan & Wendy.’ Other stars include Ever Anderson as Wendy and Alexander Molony as Peter Pan. ‘Pete’s Dragon’ director David Lowery is on board to direct the project. Lowery co-wrote the script with Toby Halbrooks.

This live-action is not the first as many others have made their own versions. Previously, 1991 film ‘Hook’ by Steven Spielberg’s starred Robin Williams as an adult Peter and Dustin Hoffman as Captain Hook. Universal and Columbia’s 2003 movie ‘Peter Pan’ featured Jason Isaacs as the pirate. The most recent, Warner Bros released Pan, the 2015 origin story starring Hugh Jackman.

Disney has been on a spree of remaking its own classic animated movies into live action ones such as ‘The Lion King,’ ‘Aladdin,’ Jungle Book’ and ‘Dumbo.’ The former two earned 1 billion dollars globally. Their upcoming projects are ‘The Little Mermaid’ and ‘Bambi.’
