Lionsgate Play has dropped the trailer of its upcoming original Indian series ‘Jugaadistan’ and its all about finding the ‘Jugaad’ to not just survive but thrive. A unique coming-of-age college drama by Akarsh Khurana (‘Mismatches’), ‘Jugaadistan’ will premiere on Lionsgate Play on 4th March, 2022.
The trailer begins with a quirky bribing scene from where it takes us to campaigns for college elections and there we see Bhati (Sumeet Vyas) asking for votes. While he doesn’t seem to have a so called manifesto for the election he sure does know how to lure students to vote for him.
The trailer then proceeds to give a glimpse of other characters in the show and the ‘jugaads’ they apply to deal with their problems. Ayesha (Ahsaas Channa), a journalism student is looking for a story while one other student wants a strategic approach to handle the racism issue he has been facing.
Next up is Lucky (Taaruk Raina), a student involved in a examination scam where he writes exams for other students disguising as them and he says he does so for thriving. He even gets some other students involved in the scam for money.
But where there is a scam there is bound to be someone who suspects it and thus begins the investigation. And it’s not just the police but also a media house trying to find out the truth about this grand examination scam involving students, agents and many others.
This college is not your usual one with romance and fun buzzing around but has a lot of deep, dark side to it. Everything here works on jugaad whether it’s love, friendship, politics or money for that matter. Not just that, dreams, passion, opportunity are all part of business in this place.
‘Jugaadistan’ on Lionsgate Play stars an ensemble cast of Sumeet Vyas, Arjun Mathur, Parambrata Chatterjee, Gopal Datt, Ahsaas Channa, Taaruk Raina, Rukshar Dhillon and more. Directed by Akarsh Khurana, this series will offer a unique look into the dynamics of campus politics and is quite far away from that generic chirpy college drama.
‘Jugaadistan’ is all set to launch on Lionsgate Play on 4th March, 2022.
