Netflix has dropped the trailer of its upcoming new series ‘Kaala Paani’ and its one thrilling drama. Helmed by Sameer Saxena, ‘Kaala Paani’ will premiere only on Netflix on 18th October, 2023.
Set in 2027, ‘Kaala Paani’ trailer begins with a Swaraj Mahotsav being held in Andaman & Nicobar island where people from around the nation are coming to attend it. Soon it is found that something strange is happening on the island and has even resulted in admission of 11 people in three different hospitals.
Turns out whatever is happening on the island is deadly and half a million lives are at risk. The trailer shows that a certain kind of mysterious disease is spreading on the island and to escape from there seems almost impossible. The mix of tribals, official authorities and common people gives the series a unique touch with abundant mystery.
‘Kaala Paani’ will have audiences embark on a journey through the salty seas and ocean breeze of the Andaman & Nicobar Islands. A grounded story about the fight for survival, the series questions audiences on how far they would go to survive.
Promising to be an edge of the seat experience, ‘Kaala Paani’ is showrun by Sameer Saxena who has directed it alongside Amit Golani. The series is written by Biswapati Sarkar, Nimisha Misra, Sandeep Saket and Amit Golani. ‘Kaala Paani’ boasts of a versatile cast comprising Mona Singh, Ashutosh Gowariker, Amey Wagh, Sukant Goel, Arushi Sharma, Radhika Mehrotra, Vikas Kumar, Chinmay Mandlekar, and Poornima Indrajith among others.
‘Kaala Paani’ is Netflix’s second project with Posham Pa Pictures after their 2022 film ‘Jaadugar’. The survival drama is produced by Amit Golani, Biswapati Sarkar, Sameer Saxena and Saurabh Khanna. ‘Kaala Paani’ will launch exclusively on Netflix on 18th October, 2023.
