Kabzaa: A Threat To Prashanth Neel, Here’s Why

The first teaser for ‘Kabzaa‘ has been released today and the it reminds of K.G.F in every single frame. The film will have a great cast of Upendra and Kichcha Sudeepa, Prakash Raj and Shriya Saran will be playing the female lead.

‘Kabzaa’ will be a period drama and as far as we can understand from the teaser, it looks way too similar to K.G.F. The colour grading, the visuals, the cinematography and the themes that come during the teaser again and again remind of K.G.F. A blunt copying of such a blockbuster is not at all expected from a movie with such huge names involved with it as the cast.

Prashanth Neel has been known exclusively for the style of filmmaking that has been followed too visibly here. The dark colour grading and cinematography to groovy music and slo-mo entry of protagonists are the elements that Neel relies on, more than the storytelling or screenplay. His direction is completely focused on beautiful shot styles and hero elevation with very less focus on other technical aspects of the film and he does not create any edge with uniqueness and originality in stories and all. The only one exclusive feature of Neel can be snatched from if there are more films following his way, relying on shot styles and hero elevation. If something is going to have a bad impact with ‘Kabzaa’, it is going to be the next films of Prashanth Neel. His uniqueness and originality reflects through the visuals of his movie and that attracts the audiences more than anything. If more filmmakers try and copy that, the thrill will be missing soon and there will be no hype around movies that he directs next.

‘Kabzaa’ will tell the story of the rise of a gangster in South India which too is strikingly similar to the original story of Rocky in K.G.F. The film will revolve around 1947 to 1984. The film will be released in 7 Indian languages that are Telugu, Hindi, Malayalam, Tamil, Odia, Kannadaand Marathi. The wide range of languages makes the release a ‘Pan- India’ release literally.

R. Chandra will be directing the movie. And the music for the film will be given by Ravi Basrur who gave the music for K.G.F too, his BGM is another thing that can make the movie eerily similar to K.G.F.
