Kalki 2898 AD is just a few weeks away from getting released. Ideally, it should have been released by now but the delays in editing, graphics, etc took time.
Regardless, it is a high-budget science fiction film that stars Prabhas, Deepika Padukone, Amitabh Bachchan, Disha Patani, Saswata Chatterjee, and Kamal Hassan in important roles. Interestingly if you notice then it has stalwarts from Hindi, Tamil, Telugu as well as Bangla Cinema.
The movie is set in a distant future where Kalki, the final avatar of Lord Vishnu, is prophesied to incarnate in the world.
So far, Bujji and Bhairava, an animated series on Prime Video, has been released. It is a part of the Kalki cinematic world and is somehow connected to the magnanimous film.
So, the trailer is finally here. What can we say about it?
Indian cinema needs just too many lessons. Be it a matter of past or dystopia, the makers just choose a yellowish tint to create that atmosphere. Innovation…what’s that?
Even the story part is just too chaotic. The lack of any linear comprehensive storyline serves two purposes, it either creates mystery or extinguishes any possible temptation. What is happening over here is something that only the audience can justly decide.
The film is set for release on the 27th of June. Let’s see how it comes out to be. Given the scale and cast of the film, it should easily challenge the likes of RRR at least in the domestic market.
